For 175 years the Amer­i­ca’s Cup has nev­er been raced in Italy. That changes in the sum­mer of 2027, when the Louis Vuit­ton 38th Amer­i­ca’s Cup arrives in the Gulf of Naples with the race course set between Cas­tel del­l’O­vo and Posil­lipo, Vesu­vius fill­ing the hori­zon and Capri twen­ty miles to the south.

If you have ever watched the Cup on tele­vi­sion and told your­self you would be there one day, this is the edi­tion to pick. The set­ting is unlike any­thing the event has seen in Valen­cia, San Fran­cis­co, Bermu­da, Auck­land or Barcelona. And unlike those venues, this one sits with­in a short boat ride of Sor­ren­to, Posi­tano, Capri and Ischia, which means you can watch AC75s foil at 50 knots in the after­noon and eat din­ner on a ter­race above the Amal­fi Coast the same evening.

    Private yacht spectator tour from Sorrento, Capri or Naples

    A licensed captain positions you at the edge of the course off Posillipo, with the racing in front and Vesuvius behind. Depart from Sorrento's Marina Piccola or your hotel on Capri, swim on the way, lunch on board, watch the AC75s foil past at 50 knots, cruise home at sunset. Boats from 40 to 80+ feet, private groups of 2 to 12, corporate hospitality on request

    The Race Village along Viale Francesco Caracciolo and the Rotonda Diaz is free to enter and will have giant screens, the main stage for sailor presentations, hospitality areas and grandstands. For atmosphere, it will be unbeatable. For actually seeing the racing, understand what you are signing up for: a crowd the organizers expect to exceed one million over the event, summer heat above 30°C, and a viewing angle from sea level where the boats are frequently a mile or more away. The Bagnoli team base area will also have a fan village and screens, and it is where you can watch the AC75s dock out each morning. 

    Hotels along the Naples seafront will sell out. If your priority is a balcony with a view of the course, book the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, the Excelsior or the Royal Continental now, then plan on a private transfer to Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast for the days you are not racing.

    Helicopter tour over the race course, Capri and Vesuvius

    A 30 to 60-minute private flight over the Gulf of Naples during Cup week: the fleet, the Race Village, the Faraglioni of Capri and the Amalfi Coast in one loop. Combine it with a yacht for the racing itself and you have the full-circle day

    Seen from 1,500 feet, an AC75 leaves a white foil wake across dark blue water, and the entire Gulf becomes the racecourse. A helicopter tour during America's Cup week combines the race with the flight every visitor to this coast wants anyway: Vesuvius, the Sorrento Peninsula, Capri's Faraglioni and the Amalfi Coast in a single loop. 

    Sorrento Voyage arranges helicopter tours with licensed operators, departing from helipads on the Sorrento Peninsula and Naples area, for 30, 45 and 60-minute flights. Air traffic restrictions over the course will apply during race windows and are set by the aviation authorities, so flight routes and times during racing depend on the rules published for the event. What we can guarantee is a private flight over the Gulf of Naples with the Cup fleet, race village and course as the backdrop, and combined packages with a yacht for the race itself. 

    Combine the two and you have what our clients call the full-circle day: helicopter over Capri and Vesuvius in the morning, transfer to the marina, private yacht at the course for the afternoon's racing, sunset return to Sorrento

    Naples in July 2027 will be a city under the world's spotlight, with road closures around the seafront, a Race Village along the main coastal road and hundreds of thousands of extra visitors. Renting a car makes no sense. The Circumvesuviana train is not what you want after a long flight.

  • The Amer­i­ca’s Cup Match runs July 10 – 18, 2027, with July 19 as a reserve day. The Louis Vuit­ton Cup, which decides the chal­lenger, starts May 22, 2027. A Pre­lim­i­nary Regat­ta is raced in Naples on Sep­tem­ber 24 – 27, 2026.

  • On a course set between Cas­tel del­l’O­vo and Posil­lipo, off the Naples seafront in the Gulf of Naples. The teams are based at Bag­no­li, in the west­ern part of the city.

  • Yes. Every Amer­i­ca’s Cup has an offi­cial spec­ta­tor fleet posi­tioned along the course bound­ary. Our cap­tains place your yacht at the edge of the zone with the rac­ing in front of you. From shore the boats are often a mile away; from the water you fol­low the whole race.

  • Naples, Sor­ren­to (Mari­na Pic­co­la), Capri, Posi­tano and Amal­fi. Mari­na di Stabia, Ischia and Pro­ci­da on request. From Sor­ren­to the course is about 45 min­utes on a fast cruis­er; from Capri rough­ly one hour.

  • Race days depend on con­di­tions and the offi­cial sched­ule. We hold your boat against a deposit and adjust the date with you if the orga­niz­ers post­pone. If rac­ing is can­celled on your day, you still have a full pri­vate day on the Gulf and we help you rebook for the next race day where avail­abil­i­ty allows.

  • Yes.   • Yes. Exclu­sion areas and Coast Guard rules for the event are pub­lished by the orga­niz­ers and the Naples Port Author­i­ty before rac­ing. Our licensed cap­tains take care of it; you nev­er have to think about where the bound­ary is.
